inFORM is a gesture-based interface developed by the Tangible Media Group in MIT. It makes remote physical interactions possible by rendering 3d shapes that respond to the movements of the user. The project uses a Kinect sensor as well as 150 custom Arduino boards to control a grid of moving pins. Find out more about the project.
I went to a great exhibition ‘Alternative Guide To The Universe‘ at the weekend at the Hayward Gallery. Work of self taught artist and architects, fringe physicists and visionary inventors, all looking at the world in a very different light. Went in not expecting much but came out with a big smile on my face. So much diverse, inspiring, and bizarre work. Definitely worth a visit.
